Kimberly Bailey Had Investigator Rick Post Tortured, Killed

When millionaire Kimberly Bailey found out her sometime-boyfriend, Rick Post, was sleeping around and stealing from her, she had him kidnapped, tortured, and murdered. But it turned out Rick’s business associate was the one telling Bailey lies to get him out of the way.

Richard “Rick” Post was born in 1945 and grew up in San Diego, California. He joined the U.S. Army at the age of 18 and served in the Vietnam War.

“He scored the highest IQ test in the whole western seaboard of the Army so they immediately put him into Army Intelligence,” Rick’s son Ian Post told “Snapped,” airing Sundays at 6/5c on Oxygen.

Rick was married twice and had four kids. To support his family, he put his military training to use, opening Intellisource Security And Investigative Services, Inc. in San Diego.

“The type of work ranged anywhere from, we’ll call it investigation to cheating investigation of a spouse or husband and anything in between,” said Ian.

Rick wasn’t afraid of dangerous assignments and also worked murder cases that brought him face to face with killers.

In the late 1990s, he hired aspiring young private investigator John Krueger to help with his caseload.

Then, in 1997, Intellisource was hired by a woman named Kimberly Bailey. Bailey owned a 33-acre farm north of San Diego where she grew holistic medicines and avocados and also sold alternative medical devices.

“She had a business known as AstroPulse and the idea was that by using electrical currents you could cure pretty much anything,” former FBI Special Agent Jeffrey Thurman told “Snapped.”

By her early 40s, Bailey was a multi-millionaire. With success though, came suspicions.

“Kim was rather paranoid. She always believed that someone was watching her or after her,” former business associate Kenneth Altpeter told “Snapped.”

Fearful people were stealing from her, Bailey hired Intellisource. The relationship between her and Rick eventually went from professional to romantic, but Rick later broke it off with Bailey.

“I do remember my father telling me at our home he wanted to keep this relationship professional, that he did not want to have a romantic relationship with her,” said Ian Post.

But then, on August 21, 1998, a secretary at Intellisource called 16-year-old Ian Post and asked if he knew where his father was. Ian hadn’t seen him in 24 hours and calls to his phone went unanswered. Rick’s car was parked in front of his house with the keys in the mailbox.

Though Ian was used to his father leaving town abruptly for work, Rick always told him when he would be back and would make arrangements for someone to look after the teenager.

“Rick didn’t tell his 16-year-old boy that he was going any place. Took no clothes. Took no medications with him. That’s not a normal business trip. That’s suspicious,” former FBI Special Agent Nick McKean told “Snapped.”

John Krueger contacted Ian a week later to say Rick had left a voicemail message at the office.

“The voicemail was Rick’s voice and was directed to his office staff saying that he was going to be in Mexico for a few days and he was fine, not to worry about him,” FBI Special Agent Brett Fenoglio told “Snapped.”

Though Krueger insisted the message was left the day before he disappeared, Ian thought it sounded like his father was being coerced.

“It really wasn’t what my father was saying, it was his candor, the way he spoke,” said Ian.

The Post family filed a missing persons report in August 1998.

Krueger told investigators he had last seen Rick on August 20, in the company of Kimberly Bailey. They then interviewed Bailey, who said she and Rick had traveled to Mexico for business on August 20. She claimed they went out for a meal while in Tijuana, during which Rick was approached by two men.

“At the conclusion of the conversation, Rick told Kimberly that he needed to make a business trip to Mexico City,” said Thurman.

Bailey claimed she took Post to the airport where he boarded a plane. She then drove his car back to his home in San Diego, leaving the keys in his mailbox.

But four months later, the U.S. Attorney’s Office was contacted by lawyer Coleen Cusack. She was seeking blanket immunity for a client in exchange for information about the kidnapping and murder of a San Diego resident. The U.S. The Attorney’s Office refused the deal but passed the information to the FBI. With the few details they had, investigators believed the victim was Rick Post.

In May 1999, the FBI attempted to re-interview John Krueger. He said he would first have to speak with his lawyer, Coleen Cusack. He subsequently ended the interview.

“At that point we quickly made the connection that Rick Post was not just a missing person. Rick was murdered and John Krueger has information directly related to the kidnap of Rick Post,” said Fenoglio.

The FBI also learned Kimberly Bailey was under investigation for fraud related to the medical devices she sold and put her under surveillance. In November 1999, the FBI went to Bailey’s farm. There, they spoke with farmhand Bruce Perlowin and his wife, Svetlana Ogorodnikova.

“This moment was a jaw dropper for the agents. Svetlana was someone that was known to virtually every FBI agent who joined the agency during the 1980s and 1990s,” said Thurman.

During the 1980s, Ogorodnikova was convicted of espionage after seducing a Los Angeles FBI agent and passing confidential documents to the Soviet Union. She served nine years in prison before being deported and moving to Tijuana with her husband, according to the Berkeley Daily Planet newspaper. Ogorodnikova and Perlowin later entered the United States illegally and worked for Bailey at her farm.

Ogorodnikova said Bailey was upset Post broke off their romance and suspected him of stealing from her.

“Kimberley Bailey had actually confided in Svetlana that she had orchestrated the kidnap and murder of Rick Post,” said Fenoglio.

Ogorodnikova agreed to record Bailey talking about the murder. The perfect opportunity arrived when Bailey asked Ogorodnikova to pick her up in Arizona and drive her back to California. Hidden recording devices in the car caught Bailey sharing details of Rick Post’s grim end.

Bailey said Krueger had contacted her in August 1999 and told her Rick was stealing her money and sleeping around behind her back. Enraged, Bailey paid $40,000 to have an associate of Krueger’s named Humberto Iribe kidnap and torture Rick, according the Los Angeles Times.

Bailey lured Rick to Tijuana where he was abducted by Iribe and tortured for five days, enduring beatings and having his fingers crushed with pliers. Bailey said she would travel down to where he was kept in Mexico to watch the torture.

“Rick said, ‘I admit that I slept with other women.’ He’s always denied stealing anything,” Bailey told Ogorodnikova on the recordings, which were obtained by “Snapped.”

Bailey claimed she wanted to keep Rick alive and imprison him in a private dungeon but that Iribe said it was too dangerous.

“That’s when I said, ‘Do what you have to do,’” Bailey told Ogorodnikova.

Bailey would later pay Iribe an additional $10,000 to have Rick executed, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Bailey subsequently asked Ogorodnikova to help her find someone to kill Krueger and Iribe. A meeting was set up between Bailey and former FBI Special Agent Nick McKean posing as a hitman.

“She wanted three people killed. She wanted John Kreuger. She wanted her attorney and then she wanted her gardener,” said McKean. “I couldn’t get her to tell me why she wanted her gardener killed. Still don’t know.”

She then gave him $10,000 as a down payment.

John Krueger was arrested in April 2000 in San Diego. Later that month, Kimberly Bailey was arrested at a Mexico City airport, where she was traveling with a Canadian passport. Humberto Iribe would avoid arrest until 2003, when he was extradited to the United States.

Krueger pleaded guilty to conspiring to kidnap Rick Post and agreed to testify against Bailey at her trial. He was sentenced to 12 years in prison and five years of supervised release, according to the Los Angeles Times, and released from prison in 2010.

He told authorities he was angry at Rick for not paying him enough. He admitted to fabricating the stories about Rick stealing from Bailey in order to rile her up.

“It was actually John Krueger who dripped the first poison in Kimberley Bailey’s ear, knowing how paranoid Kimberly Bailey was. John Krueger orchestrated this plot to get rid of Rick Post so that John could take over the business,” said Fenoglio.

Kimberley Bailey was convicted of kidnapping, conspiracy to kidnap, and using interstate commerce in a murder-for-hire scheme in connection with the disappearance of Richard Post. In 2003, she was sentenced to life in prison, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune newspaper.

She died while incarcerated in 2008 after being diagnosed with cancer.

Humberto Iribe was found guilty of conspiracy and attempted kidnapping and sentenced to 25 years in prison. He was scheduled for release in December 2022, according to court documents.

The renowned pro in neuroscience and training uncovered a good deal about upping her personal physical fitness match when she embarked on a journey that took her from being a sedentary scholar to a tenacious triathlete. “The mind is partly to blame. Our absence of determination for performing exercises is a relic of our evolutionary past when we required to expend a ton of energy to hunt and obtain our meals. Back then, energy conservation was imperative for survival, and so the mind progressed to perspective any voluntary motion as an extravagant expenditure, and this would make us lazy.”

    Fret Significantly less About Willpower

Of training course, the commercialization of sweet at Easter signifies that we take in significantly additional strength than we truly want, but that does not cease our bodies from wanting to shop people excessive calories for a afterwards date. “On prime of that, we generally neglect the actuality that exercising calls for a lot of willpower,” states Dr Heisz. “Save on your own the time and power you need to have to work out by making use of a calendar to approach out your training in advance of time. Involve as lots of facts as feasible: What activity will you be carrying out? When will you do it? Exactly where? And with whom? Smash These Sedentary Easter Break Periods

Whether or not taking pleasure in the Easter crack from the comfort and ease of your sofa, or returning to perform and investing hours sitting down in the workplace, there is just one factor that threatens to derail our progress, and that is the quantity of time we spend without the need of shifting. “Sitting is the new smoking cigarettes,” states Heisz. “When we sit for lengthy periods of time, our system goes into hibernation mode depressing our rate of metabolism and raising our blood strain, blood sugar and fat. Significant blood tension damages the heart and its vessels. This reduces brain blood stream, which not only will make it tougher for us to think evidently and emphasis but it also boosts our chance of dementia.

“The option? Each individual 30 minutes acquire a two-minute motion break. Shift in no matter what way feels appropriate for you. You can do jumping jacks, drive-ups, or burpees in your individual home if you have to have to. And if you require to start off out with a thing a bit gentler, consider a self-paced wander or stretching.”

Dr Heisz, who is also the Director of the NeuroFit Lab at McMaster College in Hamilton, Ontario, says that we shouldn’t permit the dread of hard exercise sessions cease us from getting commenced. “2 to 5 minutes of motion is all it takes to counteract the deleterious consequences of sitting down, and to replenish the brain with the very important vitamins and minerals it demands to think, keep targeted, and prosper.”

Get Out of Your Consolation Zone and Reap the Rewards

An justification that we normally notify ourselves in buy to keep away from workout is the just one that suggests we are as well tired or pressured to exercise session. In fact, as we exercise routine much more, we turn into fitter and a lot more energized. We also reap mental benefits from our physical investments. “Tough exercise routines that thrust us outdoors of our ease and comfort zone not only enable us improve bodily stronger but also make us far more resilient to life’s challenges, and this is accurately what occurred to me though I was education for the Ironman,” shares Heisz. “The instruction transformed me into a extra resilient human being, and I grew to become fewer reactive to every day stressors.”

Here’s how it performs: Extreme workout routines induce a dynamic stress response identified as allostasis. Allostasis assists the entire body adapt and mature and is specifically what we will need to come to be fitter, stronger and much healthier. “The awesome issue is that we only have a person tension reaction for all stressors, like physical stressors from workout and also psychological stressors from our daily existence,” states Dr Heisz. “In the exact same way that you can increase your muscular strength by progressively lifting heavier weights, you can extend your tension tolerance for exercise and lifestyle by progressively including intensity and length to your routines.”

Depression Cannot Compete With a Fitter You

Our analysis shows how quickly mental wellness can drop less than continual psychological anxiety, but it also highlights how efficient training is at protecting us from anxiety-induced despair,” Heisz shares. “Just six weeks of serious strain led to depression in folks who have in no way experienced a analysis ahead of. But training buffered versus those tension consequences. While HIIT and average-intensity routines were being similarly successful, those who engaged in 30 minutes of moderate-intensity cycling three moments for every 7 days ended up significantly less pressured and less inflamed.”

Investigation reveals that cardio exercise routines can reduce despair and it is the period matters most listed here. Raising your exercise session by just 10 minutes will yield a higher antidepressant influence. Resistance routines these as yoga, tai chi and body weight education can also enable relieve depression, but in this article it is the depth that issues most. Increasing your resistance work out intensity by just 10 {fe463f59fb70c5c01486843be1d66c13e664ed3ae921464fa884afebcc0ffe6c} will yield a greater antidepressant effect. So, strain is no justification for abstaining from workout.

Concentrate On Both of those the Small- and For a longer time-Expression Plans to Keep Your Coaching On Track

A important motive that many individuals sense less inspired to teach just after Easter is mainly because they unsuccessful to see the final results of their New Year’s Resolution, but this is just a make a difference of transforming your viewpoint on what constitutes development. “Most people start off a new workout program and want success NOW!” states Dr Heisz. “Typically, the sought after effects are actual physical, like weight decline or muscle mass acquire, but those bodily changes can choose months to transpire, and that can be incredibly discouraging. The option? We require to reframe things. To start with, in its place of focusing on the actual physical advantages which can choose months, attempt concentrating on the mental benefits that can be felt quickly after every single workout. “You’ll sense better, additional centered, and fewer nervous following every single exercise. How’s that for quick gratification!?

Try out focusing less on the goal and far more on the overall expertise. “When we focus on the expertise that we get through workout, it can make the full process additional intrinsically motivating,” shares Dr Heisz. “Your working out working experience doesn’t have to be overly optimistic to have a favourable outcome. Attempt shelling out notice to your heart price and muscle contractions. When focusing on the physical exercise encounter, it will become movement-like… an pleasant, easy working experience, that will make you want to see it as a result of to the conclude.

For illustration, to produce a new practice, make it noticeable by writing it down. To split a lousy pattern, do the opposite. That is, get any publicity to it out of your environment.

    Be The Real North

As leaders, we established the tone for our businesses. We are the embodiment of our culture, and our team customers search to us as examples. In my enterprise, “Be Better” is our philosophy. If my staff sees me contradicting this, what incentive do they have to adhere to it? If I’m constantly likely in opposition to what I profess to be our eyesight, my integrity as a leader and my team’s rely on in me will falter.

You are your team’s guideline as a result of tumultuous times. Your habits, choices and steps are on exhibit. To encourage modify in your team, you will have to be the modify you want them to be. Listed here are some guidelines to aid you get started off:

    1. Evaluate your every day habits.

No matter whether it is trying to keep a journal or tracking your steps in an app, looking at is believing. When we can discover the trouble, we can occur up with a solution. It may perhaps be challenging to confess our poor routines, but if we want to change, this is an crucial initially step.

    2. Begin with a smaller improve.

Merely changing one particular cup of espresso or goblet of wine with a glass of drinking water is adequate to soar-begin your post-pandemic lifestyle. Small modifications over time experience major results. Apply can make best, as they say. Although we’re not seeking perfection, we need to be looking for perseverance.

    3. Remember the entire you.

We are more than what we try to eat. Our feelings and emotions perform a big part in our in general wellbeing. If we’ve uncovered anything, it is that our mental wellbeing is crucial to our capability to cope with worry. Meditating, undertaking yoga or adopting a new respiratory procedure are just a few means to lower the noise.

    4. You’re not alone.

Human beings are not supposed to be lone wolves. We are social beings. If you or your group has been isolating, develop a plan to re-socialize. Look for out networking teams or social clubs within just your comfort zone. Select up the telephone as an alternative of texting. Reignite these human connections.

    5. Acquire a walk… in anyone else’s footwear.

The biggest lesson I have discovered from these past months is a further comprehension of other people today, their situation and their reactions to the various hiccups in their life. I have viewed good friends and my workforce wrestle to stability pandemic policies and laws, homeschooling their small children and their careers. It is a whole lot even beneath the most effective of circumstances.

Your staff may possibly be placing on a courageous deal with out of panic of judgment. What I’ve recognized is just for the reason that somebody seems to be great on the outside is no indicator of their legitimate point out of thoughts. Go the extra mile and really do not get “I’m fine” as the remaining reply.

Like several, I’m gradually acquiring back to my pre-pandemic healthier life-style. Day by day workout routines have returned. My yoga and meditation practices have been resurrected. There’s a lot more h2o and less Netflix.

By taking better care of me, I can take improved treatment of my staff, who will in turn just take better care of them selves. I want my crew to be profitable — not just in between the hrs of 9 and 5, but the complete day and for the relaxation of their lives. By walking the walk, I show them that it’s achievable.
